the sunday slowdown

Is it almost Spring yet?
I have a hankering for flowering baby buds and warm window panes and
I'm tired of fending off colds that are coming for me left, front and back!
This morning I scooped up my book, pens and writing paper and escaped to the coziness of the coffee shop for a few hours of reading and writing therapy.
Works a charm on me every time.

My soul is craving some good outdoors time, but for now the snow and the frost have me running for cover every time I venture out of the apartment.
I have to remind myself the deeper we move in to February the closer we inch toward Spring and warm air and good changes.
When I think back to Spring last year, when I was home at my parents house in Ireland, taking long walks every day, spotting wild horses in the fields and taking photos of old churches, I realize now just how happy a time that was for me.

As much as there is a hermit in me (incidentally, The Hermit was one of the first cards I pulled at my Tarot reading) who loves the hibernation involved in Winter, there is another part of me that loves the freedom and call of the outdoors that Spring offers.

I hope that Old Man Winter is being sweet to you, he is a charming old wizard after all...but I am ready for a little bit of change ^^

  1. I love being able to hibernate in the winter but I do love being able to be outside without freezing!

  2. I have had quite enough of winter as well. I prefer a long walk to a coffeeshop session, though I also did the latter today. Ready for some chunk rays of sunshine!

    1. Hi Amanda. Lovely to meet you!! I think I'm just going to have to brave the cold and get outside more anyway, the extended hibernation is stifling!
      Thanks for your comment x

  3. This post reminds me that I haven't done a tarot reading in weeks, ah! I'd probably end up pulling The Hermit, as well... I am totally a homebody in the winter. Luckily, the weather is starting to warm up in my neck of the woods.

    1. I've decided I'm going to teach myself Tarot this year, I had a very interesting first reading a few weeks back and now I'm intrigued about the whole thing ;)

  5. It would be awesome if the weather would lighten up. I haven't wandered around outside in ages either, haha.
What deck do you have? I've always gotten really accurate readings from mine. I use The Lover's Tarot by Jane Lyle, though I'd like to get one for non-relationship related questions. The shop that sold them around here closed when the owner passed away, and I won't buy a deck that I can't hold in my hands first.

    1. I actually don't read my own~ I had a reading done for the first time a couple of weeks ago and how accurate everything that she told e has turned out to be has kind of made a believer of me. I'm curious enough to want to buy my own deck and teach myself this year anyway.
Really interesting to hear your take on not handling a used deck, I suppose a readers own deck is a very personal thing!

    2. Oh it's not that I wouldn't use a deck that had a previous owner, it's just that I like to be able to look at it in person to see if I click with it or not. My mom got her deck from someone who had it lying around for quite a long time, and as soon as she held it she knew it was hers. It's just that sort of feeling, you know?
